Hello everyone,

I bought a house last year, and after the gas heating system failed, I immediately got a heat pump and a photovoltaic system. Now that I finally have the Panasonic Aquarea L heat pump and a photovoltaic system installed, and after taking a weekend off from studying building technology, the circulation pump is now broken (first it made a strange noise, and now it doesn’t start properly after turning on and off—it just gets hot).

I’ve looked on Amazon but I’m quite confused: Is it easy to install? How efficient is it (not just electricity usage but also water temperature loss)? What’s the expected lifespan? These are all topics that are not easy to compare.

For me, efficiency is the most important factor (especially water temperature loss—so having a timer is important) and lifespan. Noise level doesn’t matter. It also shouldn’t be too difficult to install, as I’m an amateur who is learning step by step (but I would feel confident closing valves and loosening screws with a wrench).

The easiest option would be to just replace the motor for about 200€ (around $215), but I thought there might be newer and better options on the market by now (with better price-performance ratio).

I’m looking forward to your experiences!

See the picture below showing how it is currently installed.

The price for this type of motors typically falls within this range, depending on the model and manufacturer.

The efficiency is also acceptable – the motor draws a maximum of 5 W.

I wouldn’t spend much time thinking about it, just get your hands dirty and simply buy a new pump with the same connection, and that’s it...

I did some research, and the cheapest option (although it has a slightly different model designation than mine) is this one for €137:
Vortex Universal Motor BWO 155 Z 230V with Timer 433-101-030
Is this suitable? I’m a bit confused about the "thread diameter 1/2" – that would be garden hose size... :/ But I think there might be some copy-paste errors in the table.
Since I plan to work with Shellys, I don’t need much extra; it just has to function properly under normal operation.

You know that’s just the black Euft – meaning the engine.

If your pump is broken, that won’t help you...

Buy the same part again or its successor. The 50 EUR you might save there will be wasted on hours of searching for an alternative that, in the end, doesn’t fit for some reason.

Remove, measure, order, done.
