YingYangGirl14 Sep 2016 09:32Hello,
maybe someone here has already had some experience with the Bekannt series.
I’m interested in a Bekannt table, specifically a corner table. However, I’m not really keen on the base; I would prefer regular table legs. Does anyone know if that’s possible?
So far, I haven’t found any information about this online...
As an alternative, there is Linnmon, but it’s actually a bit too small for me.
I appreciate any help and thank you in advance for your answers.
Best regards

maybe there is someone here who already has some experience with the Bekant series.

YingYangGirl That’s not possible without a custom solution.
The tabletops are very thin, so you can’t drill a hole that would hold a screw securely.
That’s why the frame with the metal structure is used.

Is it possible to extend the Linnmon? For example, could I theoretically create a corner desk using two Linnmon tabletops (e.g., 2 x 100cm x 60cm (39 inches x 24 inches) joined at a right angle), which would roughly match the dimensions of the well-known corner desk? Is there a solution from Ikea for this, or would it be a DIY project again?
I mean, apart from simply placing them together with four legs each.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Is it possible to extend the Linnmon? In other words, can I theoretically create a corner desk from two Linnmon tabletops (for example, 2x 100x60cm (39x24 inches) joined at a right angle), which would roughly match the dimensions of the well-known corner desk? I’m not talking about just placing them next to each other with four legs each.
Many thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards, YingYangGirlThat won’t work unless you just place them side by side. The Linnmon tops are hollow inside, so there isn’t much you can screw together for a strong connection.

IKEA-Experte15 Sep 2016 23:22Why don’t you simply place two LINNMON tabletops side by side? A truly office-suitable desk always has a metal frame, apart from old bulky desks.

YingYangGirl16 Sep 2016 09:19Hello,
thanks again for your answers.
I don’t want to place them side by side simply for aesthetic reasons, especially considering the legs. But I’ll probably have to see it in person to decide.
Since I’ll be near an Ikea tomorrow anyway, I’ll take a look there and then see which versions I like best and, most importantly, which are practical.
Thanks again for your help. Since I like to plan everything in advance and spend a long time thinking about it, this has already been very helpful.
