Hello everyone, I have a Kallax shelf from IKEA, and one of the wooden panels is quite scratched. Since I would like to keep the shelf and the appearance is very important to me, I am looking for ways to renew or replace the scratched Kallax panel. My question is: where can I find replacement panels for the Kallax shelf, preferably matching in color, material thickness, and finish quality? I am interested in both official sources and alternative manufacturers or DIY options. A detailed guide on how to replace the panel or suitable accessories would also be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Thanks, I just checked the fastening – mine are plastic dowels, which still seem to be intact. Can you recommend a reliable source to buy these small fasteners? From my experience, IKEA doesn’t sell them individually.

You can find plastic dowels at most hardware stores or online shops under terms like "furniture dowels" or "plastic connector dowels." It is important to measure the diameter and length precisely to find replacements that fit perfectly. Sometimes these dowels are brand-specific, especially when it comes to IKEA, but comparable replacement parts usually work just as well.

A small recommendation: Take the original anchor plugs with you to the store when buying replacements, or compare the dimensions carefully. There are different types; not every one fits everywhere.
