Hello,
I hope this question is posted in the right place.
In my apartment, I have a small interior bathroom where the air has so far only been able to passively exit through a ventilation grille.
A few years ago, during renovations, I had a drywall ceiling with recessed spotlights installed, and a cable was also prepared there, hidden, to allow for conversion to an electric fan.
This is exactly what I am working on now. However, I had to cut two holes in the ceiling, which I admit I did somewhat roughly using a utility knife. One hole is about the size of a cigarette pack, and the other is about the size of four cigarette packs. Around the smaller hole, the material crumbled, while from the larger one, I could remove one continuous piece of drywall.
What materials and tools do I need, and how can I reasonably patch these holes? Specifically, what should I put into the holes, and how do I connect that to the rest of the ceiling?
Afterward, textured wallpaper (Raufaser) will be applied again and the entire ceiling will be repainted white. The wallpaper was cut out in a 50cm by 50cm (20in by 20in) section before I made the holes.
Thank you very much and best regards!

Take a wooden batten and cut it slightly longer than the opening. This way, you can insert the cut batten into the opening, position it as needed, and fasten both ends to the existing drywall using Spax screws (depending on the size of the opening, you may need several battens).
Now you can screw either the old drywall panel or a newly cut one onto the new battens.
Then apply joint compound, textured wallpaper or primer, paint, and you’re done.
