Quickborner23 Oct 2022 09:50Hello everyone,
I would like to hear your opinion.
For our new build, a construction road was created. Now, an entrance driveway is going to be built there.
The construction road was compacted properly with recycled base material (BMG). Unfortunately, the groundwork contractor can no longer tell me how deep the compaction went.
The height seems fine, so only a bit more recycled base material would need to be added, followed by the gravel.
Would you, to be on the safe side, remove everything again, store it at the side, and compact new layers, or simply build on top of it?
Best regards,
Chris

If the height is correct and the construction access road hasn’t settled anywhere, just build over it.
Set the curbs on the right and left (consider slope and water drainage),
fill the base course material from the outside, spread gravel on top, and then lay the paving stones.
An 8cm (3 inches) layer of paving over a construction road can support 10 tons, due to moving trucks, motorhomes, and contractor vans,
that’s how we do it and it holds up.

motorradsilke27 Oct 2022 09:21Simply build on top. It’s almost impossible to get soil denser than a construction road that construction vehicles have driven over.
We had to partially remove ours because the driveway wasn’t going there, and I can tell you, that soil is very well compacted.
