lopp1000Good morning, does anyone have experience with renovating an Okal Haus house from 1970? I want to keep the roof structure, or at least support it, and gradually remove the exterior walls to replace them with masonry and an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS). Does anyone know a contact who has done this before? Ideally near the Steinhuder Meer area close to Hannover. For me, there are only two options: this solution or a complete demolition.
Thank you for your suggestions.

Why do you trust the roof structure more than the wall construction?
If the wall construction is questionable from a building biology perspective, the same would likely apply to the roof.
What is usually done in such cases is to strip the cladding and rebuild the walls using the same technique but updated to modern standards.
Without verified structural calculations, I don’t see anyone continuing to use the roof on a “solid” house.

we are a young family considering buying an Okal house, model 117 OT, built in 1970, but we have read extensively in various forums about the issues with pollutant contamination...
If we buy it, a complete renovation is basically the only option, or even better, replacing the ground floor structure with masonry, as you planned. Were you able to carry out this project, or did you decide on a different solution? I would appreciate any tips or experiences.
Thanks in advance and best regards
