Hello,
We are currently renovating, and our gas and plumbing installer said that the water pipes definitely need to be replaced. This wasn’t planned in our budget. Is it necessary to replace PVC pipes? The house was built in 1996, and according to him, the pipes would not be installed like this today.
I have attached a photo.
Best regards

The great thing about PVC is that it lasts forever. With rigid PVC (used for pipes), you also don’t have issues with plasticizers. Additionally, it is less prone to buildup, whether from dirt (wastewater) or lime scale.
I wouldn’t change anything there… especially since it looks like the work was done quite neatly at the time.
But I am happy to learn more!
