Especially along the edges and on some of the shelves, there are small scratches and discolorations that are difficult to remove. My specific question is: What effective methods or home remedies exist to gently and precisely remove these typical signs of wear on a Billy shelf? The materials should not be damaged, as it is not solid wood but rather a veneered surface. That’s brilliant, being able to restore the shelf to almost like new! 🙂 I also refreshed my BILLY shelves using a repair kit and was surprised at how well the colors matched. My tip: always clean the shelf thoroughly before applying, otherwise the wax layer won’t adhere as well. And very important: apply several thin layers rather than one thick one. Good luck!
