Hello,
In the kitchen, we have old countertops (granite) and we are not sure how to remove them. Apparently, they are not screwed in but seem to be glued in certain spots.
Does anyone know the best way to take these countertops down? Thanks.

Are they secured in any way at all? Mine is simply resting on top without screws or adhesive.

I can well imagine that it was fixed in place at certain points with silicone. Fixed, not glued. The best method is probably using fishing line or wire? Otherwise, it is likely held up by its own weight, so firmly push it up there.

I would start by removing the baseboard and, if present, the silicone sealant. Then lift it up, possibly using a crowbar. If none of that works, then a sledgehammer will do the job.

I don’t like to use a crowbar because I still need the base cabinets. I only want to replace the countertops (with MDF). It seems like everything was glued together, but it is very difficult to access.
