ᐅ Remove old cable connections?

Hello,

Is there a way to disconnect a cable connection that has been inactive for a very long time, so that it can no longer be used?

Besides the unsightly box outside the house, the move to an address without cable service (but with fiber optic) is also a factor...

Thanks!

Almost certainly yes. You contact the cable network provider and explain that you want to have the connection removed. Then you deal with their customer service, and eventually a team will come to disconnect it at the distribution box, if possible. The invoice will most likely be sent to the property owner. Honestly... paying a few months of unnecessary cable fees is definitely cheaper than dismantling the connection. And if your friend is one of those clever types who thinks they can uninstall the cable connection first and then submit a special cancellation due to lack of availability a week later, the lawyers might end up happy.

Some seem to believe they are the one-eyed person in the land of the blind.
The cable company knows that there are cables there. Now you want to disconnect the box abruptly, call them and say, "Hello, there is no cable here, someone disconnected the box, I want to terminate the contract early!!"

And then? Then the company will install a new box, and you will have cables again.

Vodafone also offers fiber optic connections. Just apply to switch to a fiber optic plan, and then you can convert your contract. Regards, your "friend."
