Hello,
our new building (about 6kW) will be heated with geothermal energy. I had initially considered Nibe, AIT, or Tecalor. The architect’s first contact installs Buderus systems. Is Buderus also reliable in the geothermal heat pump sector? Perhaps even equivalent?
Finding independent advice is unfortunately difficult – every plumbing company has its favorite brand. Energy consultants usually drop out by the time it comes to choosing the manufacturer.
How did you decide on your heat pump?

For us, this was handled through the developer. If you’re building without one, I would recommend leaving the choice of a reliable plumbing company to the professionals. As I understand it, heat pumps involve relatively simple technology—compressors and such aren’t exactly rocket science, so there will likely be no fundamental differences between them (similar to a refrigerator, for example).

What matters more to me are aspects like warranty, maintenance, and local/rapid service. These depend more on the installer or manufacturer. The pump just needs to work reliably...

I also believe it’s pointless to select a pump yourself and then have the plumbing company familiarize themselves with it. They need to have experience with “their” pumps.

Yes, that’s what I meant. “My” installer just needs to have the pump and the corresponding control unit available for it.
I’m just surprised that so few Buderus units appear in the "heat pump consumption database." It doesn’t have to mean anything, but it’s a bit confusing to me...

Because it’s not as simple as comparing it to a refrigerator.
Of course, if you don’t want to deal with the topic yourself, you primarily need a heating system that the trusted heating specialist is familiar with.
However, you can also choose the specialist based on who knows the heat pump you want to have. Or you can educate yourself a bit on the subject to support the heating specialists when problems arise. The basic technology or principle is always the same. Only the control system behind it differs. For example, with the Nibe unit, which I also chose.
