I have the following question for you..
I want to extend an existing interior wall by about 70cm (28 inches), using Ytong blocks.
Since I plan to apply primer to the entire wall (both new and old) before tiling, I was advised to use reinforcing mesh before tiling, which I should embed with adhesive and reinforcing mortar, let dry, then apply primer again before tiling.
Now my question: Is this described procedure and product selection correct? Do I need to prime the dried reinforcing mortar before tiling? And do tiles fixed with flexible adhesive generally adhere well to reinforcing mortar?
