Sektionschef3 Aug 2012 21:22Hello
While planning the kitchen using the Ikea online kitchen planner, I noticed that the refrigerator Frostig BCF228/64 is not available for selection with the tall cabinets at 233cm (7 ft 7.6 in) height. It is only available for the tall cabinets at 211cm (6 ft 11 in) height.
Does anyone know if there is a way to install the BCF228/64 in one of the 233cm tall cabinets anyway, or is it possible to do so and the planner just doesn’t show this refrigerator there?
Best regards

IKEA-Experte4 Aug 2012 10:16Hello,
for the tall cabinet, you need a 92 cm (36 inches) door at the bottom and a 125 cm (49 inches) door at the top. To make this fit, the appliance must be placed on a shelf at the height of the 6th or 7th hole – you’ll have to try that out.
The reason why the planner does not show this option is probably the weight of the freezer plus its contents. Even the reinforced shelf or the cabinet walls won’t be able to support this without the shelf supports pulling out. Therefore, I would cut four wooden blocks measuring 8 cm x 8 cm (3 inches x 3 inches) to the appropriate length and place them between the shelves over the feet, so the load is transferred directly onto the feet. To make it look nicer and to make cleaning easier, add a cover panel in front or build a drawer that fits between the blocks.

The doors will remain 70-90-57 and the top two doors will be connected with perforated sheet metal. This creates a compartment above the refrigerator that can only be accessed when the refrigerator is open, but not all kitchen utensils are needed all the time (such as cake pans or similar). I therefore don’t see this as a major issue.
