Hello, I have a question.
Just to be clear, I have absolutely no knowledge about house construction.
On our property, there is a house, an old barn (about 100m2 (1,076 sq ft) of floor area), and a garden. The garden would be wonderful in summer if it weren’t for the barn in the way. It is located directly between our house and the garden. This means that whenever we want to go to the garden, we have to go through the dark, dirty barn, and when we have a barbecue, we have to carry all the dishes and food through it. This is really inconvenient, but my parents say we cannot change anything about it because the demolition would be too expensive.
That’s why I wanted to ask you here. I already looked online, and demolition with disposal seems to start at about 12,000 euros.
Are there any alternatives? For example, could we possibly lease the plot where the barn stands to someone else, who could then demolish the barn and build something there, leaving a small path free between our house and the garden and finally removing that dirty nuisance from the property? Do you think there would generally be interested parties for something like this? Who would we need to contact about this?
Best regards
