Hello everyone,
our building plans are finally making some progress... unfortunately, we haven’t quite found the right construction company yet.

- Bien-Zenker with the "Eco Wall" – generally quite nice, but the salesperson was a bit pushy and tried to quickly sell us an overpriced private plot... so we decided to pass.
- A general contractor from Wächtersbach (Kreppenhofer) was generally satisfactory – a few details are still missing and the price is towards the higher end (around 440,000 with basement + additional costs), but includes 36.5cm (14 inches) Ytong blocks, turnkey delivery, centrally controlled ventilation system + air-to-water heat pump from Nibe, two 120cm (47 inches) level-access showers, KfW 55 standard, 1.5 stories, approximately 150sqm (1,615 sqft) including cross-wing/bay window & gable roof.
- A general contractor from Bad Nauheim, about 10,000 cheaper (slightly different scope of work) – unfortunately, the salesperson was also somewhat slow. If the salesperson is slow, how slow will the construction be? So we passed.
- Helma – was nice, but after the initial meeting no further appointment proposals or follow-ups came, so we decided not to continue.

Still outstanding:
- Meeting with architects
- Meeting with Hessenhaus (we actually prefer solid construction houses, but this was recommended to us as worth checking out)

Anyone else? I found Südwesthaus in the forum, but without further recommendations – do you have any suggestions for companies worth looking into?

The person in sales has nothing to do with the “production” process!

In the section https://www.hausbau-forum.de/forums/erfahrungen-mit-hausbau-firmen.119/, which lists names of companies found or district towns near the construction site, you should be able to find additional selections or reviews.

... gives me a good impression, and regarding the sales representative, I’ll quote Frank´N Furter: don’t judge a book by its cover ;-)

I honestly didn’t find much for Hanau/Gelnhausen, which is why I started this thread 😉
And yes, I totally agree with you on don’t judge a book by its cover ;-), BUT would you buy a $400k house that’s supposed to be good but you’re not convinced about? 😉 Missing one appointment can happen – but two? And then blaming the potential customers?

Well, in any case, I can assure you that throughout the entire housebuilding industry, the rule is that you cannot judge the quality of the workers with the trowel by the salespeople, even though this is less pronounced with medium-sized companies than with the large ones. My impression of Kreppenhofer is that if I were you, I would still keep them in the running.
