Hello dear forum community,
Are there any recommendations for garden pumps to empty a shaft about 4 meters (13 feet) deep and approximately 1 meter (3 feet) wide? The emptying needs to be done regularly.
I am not familiar with garden equipment at all.
The pump should not be placed floating in the shaft but rather stand on a solid surface, with one hose reaching into the shaft to draw water and another hose to discharge it. At least, that’s how I imagine it.
I prefer not to buy twice and am willing to spend a bit more for a product with a long service life.
Many thanks in advance!

talk to the civil engineer who installed the manhole and overflow to find out what their plan is. It’s probably all fine, and you may be able to pump garden water from there.
Also, talk to the neighbors about water, basements, and their experiences. Do you have basements?

Scrooge McDuck29 Jul 2020 07:44We have a basement, including a version designed to resist occasional water pressure. All the neighbors around experienced water during the groundwork as well, but none had as much as we did.
According to the excavation contractor, the water is redirected from the spring into the shaft, so we can use it as garden water from there.
