Hello dear forum community,
Are there any recommendations for garden pumps to empty a shaft about 4 meters (13 feet) deep and approximately 1 meter (3 feet) wide? The emptying needs to be done regularly.
I am not familiar with garden equipment at all.
The pump should not be placed floating in the shaft but rather stand on a solid surface, with one hose reaching into the shaft to draw water and another hose to discharge it. At least, that’s how I imagine it.
I prefer not to buy twice and am willing to spend a bit more for a product with a long service life.
Many thanks in advance!

I have a low-cost pressure booster system from a budget supplier installed on the cistern. It has been working for 8 years!!! (You could also buy a new one). Sure, the noise is outside. But for a true gardener, the sound of the pump is like music for 1 to 2 hours!!!

The groundworker redirected the water into the newly created pit and regularly pumped it out during the work. The pit has been full since yesterday, and now the water is rising to the surface in another location.
We want to use the water both for watering the garden and the indoor plants.

Scrooge McDuck28 Jul 2020 21:25There is an overflow present. As a layperson, I feel that water at a level about 10cm (4 inches) below the overflow in the shaft no longer has enough force to push into the shaft, causing it to appear at a low point next to the shaft.
