Baumhaus.Bau28 Jul 2016 12:58Hello everyone,
we are currently in the construction phase, and the quote from our general contractor for electric roller shutters was unrealistically high. For this reason, we now want to source the motors ourselves.
Do you have any recommendations? We need about 10 units in various sizes (2x double patio doors, 2x single patio doors, 2x floor-to-ceiling windows, and several standard windows). I’m not too concerned about torque and so on, as there are suitable sizes available.
What interests me is the possibility to operate all the roller shutters with ONE single remote control and to create motor groups (for example, a function to “open all roller shutters in the living room”). A timer function would also be nice but is not essential.

Hi,
We faced a similar problem. There are plenty of electric roller shutter motors available, but the options become more limited when you add remote control.
If you want to control any kind of groups, products from companies like Rademacher or Somfy might be suitable. However, you’ll quickly end up paying over €200 per motor.
These companies also offer radio modules that can control various motors. But a radio module plus a compatible motor generally doesn’t cost much less than a radio motor.
In our case, we’re going with the Somfy IO drives.
Best regards,
Andreas

The TDEF series from Jarolift is affordable and durable.
They offer an online configurator where you can calculate the motor power.
The remote controls of the "larger" models also support group control.
The motors have been running smoothly in my living room for over a year.
