Hello everyone,

I am considering getting a video intercom system but am not sure about the options available if I want to keep my existing RITTO base power supply unit. Attached are photos of the current hardware:
- RITTO power supply unit 6573/04
- Door intercom module 5760.02

The goal is to have a video intercom system with LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity that can be controlled via a smartphone.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards

I’m not an expert, but as far as I can tell, your system is designed only for audio. A video intercom for outside (and possibly inside) would likely need to be new. The wiring is probably more important than the power supply unit. Whether your current power supply fits would need to be checked.

As a DIY solution, an IP camera might be an option, which you could access via smartphone. However, I have no idea how well audio and video could be synced in that setup.

I have a "Doorbird". It comes with an app and can be connected to the LAN. This way, not only does the smartphone ring, but also, for example, a Fritz phone (FritzFon), which also shows the live video for 15 seconds on the FritzFon.
The app allows you to control a relay to open the door. However, I have opted not to use this feature — I don’t want to accidentally open the door when I’m not home.
