Hello everyone,
In our future house, an air-to-water heat pump from Daikin (Altherma 3 R ECH2O 308/508 H/C (H) (Biv) 8kW) will be installed. We now want to replace the analog heating thermostats with digital ones. Since there are countless options available, I wanted to ask here if you could recommend any. They don’t need to be smart home compatible.

The problem with turnkey construction is that you don’t get to choose the heating installer yourself.Honestly, if a general contractor only builds according to their own ideas, even though I’m the one paying, they are the wrong "partner." If I’m paying, I expect my wishes to be implemented. Period.M

To be honest, if a general contractor only builds according to their own ideas while I am the one paying, they are the wrong "partner." If I am paying, I want my wishes to be implemented. Period. That’s true and it is also agreed upon. He is just offering me both options, gas and heat pump. Until now, I was pretty certain about building with gas, as I have explained my reasons. But now there is an offer to pay about 3000 euros more for the heat pump option and achieve kfw55 standard. That’s making me reconsider.
One problem, however, is cooking if we decide against gas. We just bought a new gas stove last year, which we really don’t want to give up. And having a gas connection just for cooking doesn’t really make sense.

Wouldn’t KfW55 already be a benefit on its own, especially considering a possible KfW subsidy of 18,000 euros (until 30.06.21)? From that amount, the extra cost of 3000 euros could be covered, and you could definitely buy a new stove if needed...
Of course, it’s not a direct one-to-one comparison since the 18,000 euros is not paid out as cash, but it’s still basically a “gift.”

You should definitely spend some time on these topics, at least if you want an efficient and well-planned house.

Of course, it can’t be directly applied 1:1, since the 18,000 EUR is not paid out directly, but it’s still basically a “gift.” Sure, basically yes. But if I end up having higher consumption with the heat pump in the coming years compared to gas, meaning I pay more for electricity, it might no longer be worthwhile. These are my concerns.

You really should invest time in such matters, at least if you want an efficient and well-designed house. But I can’t get involved with every single trade so intensively. Since we can only build during the summer, we need to start soon, or we’ll have to postpone to 2022.Similar topics
