Hello everyone,
we are planning to build a raised garden bed from concrete blocks (3.9 x 1.3 meters (13 x 4.3 feet)) and have two questions:
* Should each block be glued with silicone, stone adhesive, or not glued at all (will the blocks crack in winter due to frost if they are not glued)?
* Is it necessary to install a lining inside a raised garden bed made of concrete blocks? I would prefer to avoid using a plastic liner if it’s not absolutely necessary, as I don’t want to introduce unnecessary plastic into my raised bed 🙄
Thanks for your suggestions and tips!
🙂

Isn't the manufacturer of the stones the one who specifies how to process this or that stone and which adhesive, mortar, or slurry to use?

What unit of measurement? Hopefully not centimeters, because that would never hold.

Basically, you can also build a raised bed as a dry stone wall. In each case, it depends on the height of the bed, the filling material, the stones, and the quality of the builder.

@WilderSueden yes, of course meters (m) and not centimeters (cm), just a question... I had forgotten, sorry.

Yes, a friend suggested it’s better to glue it to prevent it from easily coming apart in winter.

@xMisterDx in this case Mr.Gardener doesn’t specify anything. Spit sounds funny haha

3.9m x 1.3m (13ft x 4ft) stones? Then you won’t need to mortar the blocks anymore 😉

I assume he means the dimensions of the raised garden bed. The stones are probably smaller.
