Hello everyone,
we are new to the forum and would appreciate your help with a few questions. Of course, we will also try to support the community by sharing our own experiences.
Now to our first issue in the garden planning phase. Although we will only start building in October, I am already concerned about some garden-related questions. We have heard that we are not allowed to drain water from the property and driveway onto the street by using a simple slope. All rainwater must be directed into a rainwater retention basin. The bottom of the basin is about 40-50cm (15-20 inches) lower than the street. The street and the basin are 25m (82 feet) apart. Between them are the house and a double garage. The rainwater from the house is collected in a cistern, and its overflow can easily be drained into the rainwater basin without any issues. Could someone offer ideas or suggestions on how to handle such situations? On Thursday, I will meet with the project manager of the subdivision to discuss this, but a few tips in advance would be helpful.
Thank you very much in advance.
Best regards
