ᐅ Exterior venetian blinds – which manufacturer? What are the differences?

Hello!
We need external sun protection for our protruding bay window, which is made entirely of glass, to prevent heat from entering the house. All other windows already have electric roller shutters, but the bay window was left out, so this is where most of the heat gets in. (We just bought the house.)
I already have quotes from companies. The prices are mostly around 5500 euros. (3 sides, 360 cm (142 inches), 220 cm (87 inches), and 300 cm (118 inches), height about 240 cm (94 inches))
Since I don’t know much about the technology, I wonder if there are differences between Venetian blinds (also called blinds or louvered shutters)? Is one manufacturer better than another? Most companies offer Warema or Roma products. Which one is better?
All current quotes include remote control systems, but since we need to connect to electricity anyway, we don’t want a remote control feature.
I read something about CDL slats with Roma. Do these types of slats make more sense? In the quotes, the standard 80 mm (3 inches) slats were always specified.
Maybe you can give me some advice?
Thank you very much!

Do you have an approximate price for me? @ruppsen as a "neighbor" you should know the regional price per m² (square meter) around here, right?I could give you a price for a double door 176x226 cm (69x89 inches) or a window 176x126 cm (69x50 inches) if that helps?

In this plain anthracite/white concept (render/windows), something is missing to break the visual monotonyHave you considered changing the window color? I’m thinking about going for gray windows.

They have standard roller blinds because it’s simply not the best-facing side.
Could you also share your setup? Thanks.
Regarding the window color: not really. We like the combination. It would look even nicer with color accents in the render between the windows, but I’m not planning to stretch the budget any further.

€347.40 for 176x226Many thanks. This is even a price at which I would consider equipping the west-facing windows with external venetian blinds as well.
Where is the catch? I mean, obviously if you had only planned for manual roller shutters, this might be a considerable extra cost. But this does not seem overpriced.
Especially since our window supplier has planned for the two south-facing openings with motorized aluminum roller shutters (€2160).
I have now roughly calculated €5000 gross for the two west doors at 1.76x2.33 m (5.8x7.6 ft) and the two south openings at 3.00x2.33 m (9.8x7.6 ft). Does that seem realistic, or will it be less with the components you mentioned?

Grantlhaua13 Aug 2018 07:57That seems quite expensive to me, as we are paying only about €9500 (including installation) for the whole house. Installation for the entire house costs €1500 (net).
A comparison quote from another supplier with Roma roller shutters was about €3000 higher. However, we will now also request an offer from Warema.
