Hello everyone!
We are currently finalizing our choice of external blinds. Yesterday, we visited our external blinds specialist again, and now we’re not so sure if the selection (currently proposed by our architect) is the right one.
As of now, Warema products with Z-shaped slats are planned to be installed. However, after looking at the samples again yesterday, we have to say that we don’t really like the appearance. The “simple” edge-rolled slats somehow look more attractive to us.
Our main goal is to have sun protection, and when needed, privacy from outside. Darkening—which according to Warema is the main purpose of the Z-shaped slats—is not our top priority.
What did you choose and why? Does anyone have photos of an interior room with Z-shaped slats or with the edge-rolled slats installed?
So many questions!
We would appreciate any tips!
Best regards,
Wickie

I can’t comment on that, since our architect always uses Warema.
We have now made our decision as well. The 80S slats will be installed everywhere. Hi, are you going with cable guidance or recessed track systems? Hemmed or unhemmed?
We are currently requesting quotes and inquiries for both Warema and Flexalum.
They belong to Hunter Douglas, the world’s largest manufacturer of sun protection and window covering systems. Just a note for anyone reading who might be looking for an alternative to Warema and Roma...
So, in total, there will be approximately 22 m² (240 sq ft) of exterior venetian blind area (this is just a rough estimate from me) plus 2 aluminum blinds. However, the price – which I consider very reasonable – was not broken down by the window supplier for each individual item. For the Z-lamella with the Wisotronic 2-channel system and programming through Warema, the total came to almost 6,800 EUR.
Now we are switching to the 80S with Climatronic. The Wisotronic system is not sufficient for us, and the price difference is only marginal.
We don’t have the new offer yet, but the 80S is somewhat cheaper, while the Climatronic is more expensive. As soon as we have more details, I can post an update.
However, recessed guide rails were planned from the start. The 80S now comes with a folded edge.

I’m bringing this thread back to the surface.
Has anyone installed flat slats with a width of 60mm (2.4 inches) and can share a photo of them in the installed state? The 80mm (3.1 inches) ones still seem a bit too bulky for me at the moment, and I would like to see the difference when installed. Thanks in advance.
