Hello everyone,
I am in the process of getting my first kitchen. Since I don’t have much experience yet with what might be practical or impractical, I thought I’d share my plan here and maybe you can help me with some advice based on your experience.
Thank you in advance.

Hello, at first glance it doesn’t look too bad. Are you sure the window doesn’t interfere with the range hood and the kitchen faucet? I would lower the oven by one tier (20cm (8 inches)) and install a taller cabinet door above it. If you also add an electrical outlet inside the cabinet, you could place a microwave there if desired. And to the left of the window, I would add an upper cabinet for, for example, glasses when you want to pour a drink.

If you don’t need the 80 cm (31.5 inches) for waste, I would always choose the smallest possible sink cabinet, so 60 cm (24 inches), and instead of the 20 cm (8 inches) cabinet, go for a 40 cm (16 inches) wide one.

On the window side, I would also recommend four units of 60cm (24 inches) each. It creates a uniform look and doesn’t appear too busy. For the base cabinets, start on the left and then work your way to the right, so the drawers don’t hit the handles on the cooktop side.

Additionally, I would plan for a countertop extension with bar stools in the dining area. It’s cozier because you can better enjoy the view out of the large window.

Hello everyone,
the window does not interfere with either the range hood or the mixer tap. Both just fit 😀
Regarding the 80 cm (31.5 inches) and 60 cm (23.6 inches) cabinets, here is what I want to say. I want to use the 20 cm (7.9 inches) pull-out next to the fridge additionally for drinks. So, sort of as a small reserve or for when something shouldn’t be too cold. It’s also important to me to have an 80 cm (31.5 inches) pull-out for the trash bin, as I prefer the layout there. You can at least fit some things in a 22 liter (5.8 US gallons) container. Considering raising the “dining nook” might be worth thinking about. Although I wonder if bar stools aren’t a bit uncomfortable.

Best regards, Saschmax

Try sitting on it at Ikea. I find it great and quite comfortable.
