karamella7823 May 2016 13:42Hello everyone,
Could you possibly help me?
I want to place 2 Besta cabinets side by side, each 120cm (47 inches) wide, 60cm (24 inches) high, and 40cm (16 inches) deep. So the total width would be 240cm (95 inches).
On top of those, I want to place 2 Besta cabinets, each 120cm (47 inches) wide, 38cm (15 inches) high, and 40cm (16 inches) deep.
On the top cabinets with 38cm (15 inches) height, I want 4 drawers, and below, 4 regular doors with shelves inside.
Without legs.
Alternatively, I could go for a total width of 180cm (71 inches) instead of 240cm (95 inches). For that, I would need one 120cm (47 inches) cabinet plus one 60cm (24 inches) cabinet. But then the layout on top would be visible. Is there something to cover that? Like a top panel? I have only seen glass top panels, but with those, you can still see that there are 2 cabinets of different widths placed side by side.
My question: how are the 4 (or 3) cabinets attached to each other?
I just realized that it might not look good to stack 2 cabinets on top of each other because then the top edge and bottom edge don’t line up, which creates a double-thick edge that looks unusual.
THANK YOUU

IKEA-Experte23 May 2016 16:53Hello,
the cabinets are connected to each other on the sides with screws, stacked on top with brackets at the back, and adhesive pads between the cabinets at the front.
With a width of 180cm (70.9 inches), you can place a glass top on it.
For 240cm (94.5 inches) there is no specific option for BESTA, so only a side panel from METOD or a custom-made solution remains.
