ᐅ Third-coat plastering without painter’s fleece?

Hello everyone,

After a long search for a painter, we have finally received a quote from a company that is highly rated, seems competent, and also regularly works on new construction projects.

The painter suggests only applying paintable wallpaper to the ceilings and smoothing the walls to level Q3, including joint tape, then priming and painting.

Is this approach common? We had assumed that paintable wallpaper is usually applied everywhere.

Best regards

We have a large area covered with standard painter’s fleece and paint applied on top. Everything is fine; I don’t see how it could be improved.

Have you started wallpapering yet, or what’s the status on your side?

We would like to, but without windows, it’s not really possible 🤨.
Progress is very slow.
We were aware that building would also involve some frustration and stress, especially since we decided rather quickly and out of necessity.
For a while, we almost lost motivation, but there’s no turning back now.
Now it seems things are finally moving forward... the windows are on site and will be installed soon. Right after that, it’s supposed to go quickly. 😱

Q2 + fleece wood fiber, ceiling with smooth fleece can be a good solution.
