Hello everyone!
The house construction is finally finished, and we are now setting up our apartment after the last joint was plastered and the final wallpaper and paint are in place. We are looking for beautiful paintings for our new home to make it really cozy, of course 🙂 We have already done some online research and found Zimmermann & Heitmann, whose style suits our taste quite well.
However, we have no knowledge about art or its value. Could someone here give us some advice on the price ratios? Are the prices of this provider reasonable?
We are complete beginners on this topic and naturally don’t want to spend more money than necessary.
We appreciate any tips!
Best regards

For art, you spend what you think it’s worth or what it is worth to you personally.
I wouldn’t spend a single euro for Rembrandt’s golden helmet 😉
Off topic: I wonder if I did something wrong during the house construction, since I wouldn’t have any money left to buy a pond installation or a painting from a gallery...
Or could this be hidden advertising?

First off: I have no knowledge of art.
We went through our holiday photos and had one nicely printed large (160cm x 100cm (63 inches x 39 inches)) on canvas.
A second one is currently being planned. I think it creates a personal connection, the price is reasonable, and if you no longer like it, the loss is limited.
Of course, this is not an alternative for those who see art as an investment.

nordanney9 Oct 2015 15:52When it comes to art, I draw the line. I can’t imagine paying outrageous prices for a few paint splashes with a material value of just a few euros.
I’d much rather have a photo (see Musketier) or a nice family wall with pictures from a professional photographer or art prints instead of originals.
Just go to a store (large furniture stores often have pictures/prints as well) and see what YOU like. If you’re also happy with the price, then everything fits.
It could be a “cheap print” from Ikea or a Rembrandt—it’s your decision.

I guess we have our priorities set differently! The other options are also in the planning stage. We have decided to choose just one to hang either above the bed or in the living room. A proper picture is necessary here—that’s a value I inherited from my parents! 🙂
Best regards
P.S. We still haven’t been able to decide on one.. 🙁
