Since the 2018 Soccer World Cup is just around the corner, I recently thought it would be nice to watch it outdoors a bit...
In my opinion, our carport is the best place for this. The house is on the south side, the garage on the north side. The west side is protected by transparent panels... only the east side is open.
The dimensions are 3.5 meters x 6 meters (11.5 feet x 19.7 feet)...

So far, I have access to no more than 2 power outlets and a mini projector... How would you best set this up? I could, if necessary, install a second satellite dish and run a cable... but that’s a lot of effort for only occasional use... unless you have a better idea?
I have only ever had satellite TV all my life, and I have no experience with DVB-T or similar systems... Wireless (Wi-Fi) might also be an option (?)… The utility room is right next to the carport inside the house. The signal there is good...

Since none of this seems to be the real solution without spending several hundred euros, I will probably just set up a camping satellite system for the World Cup period and then, depending on the lighting conditions, either use the projector or set up my second TV (40 inches).
I have also read something about wireless HDMI... but that won’t work through the wall... too bad...

I find that puzzling as well. I’ve been talking about this since post #2.
Or directly run the cable down from the dish to the carport. From what it looks like, this is supposed to be a temporary setup anyway.
You can even skip the outlet. Depending on the type of LNB installed, the investment costs are around 30-35 euros for cable, connectors, and possibly the LNB.

This should actually not be a temporary setup... I would like to have the connection permanently in the carport. Of course, I want to spend as little time as possible on any possible installation.
For example, I could install a dish on my garden shed... but then I would have to run about 35 meters (115 feet) of coaxial cable to the front... preferably underground, which would be a lot of work.
Simply running the cable across the yard and climbing onto the roof to access the connectors (through the skylight / see my avatar) would work. But after 2 or 3 times, it gets annoying...
Therefore, I would prefer a different solution with a permanent signal. That’s why I wanted to gather some experiences from others. For example, experiences with DVB-T or things like wireless HDMI... but those options don’t work for us either.
Since none of the options are particularly convenient so far, installing a camping satellite system with a stand for about 50 euros (cable and everything included) would be the easiest option... I could just leave it set up until the washing machine is done... that would be the quick temporary solution for the washing machine.

But why make such a fuss about the satellite cable?
Just open a window a bit for the game and run the cable from your indoor outlet to the outside, then after the game, unscrew it and leave it by the window.
It costs nothing but a few minutes to connect...
