Hello everyone!

Now that the temperatures outside have finally dropped for a few days, I’ve started adjusting the heating settings and can’t shake the feeling that the hydraulic balancing wasn’t done – or wasn’t done properly. But at this point, I’m not surprised by anything with our incompetent plumbing contractor 🙁

This brings up the question again about having a report for the hydraulic balancing… How was it for you? Did you receive a report? And for those of you with mechanical ventilation with heat recovery – did you also get a report showing how the airflow settings were adjusted?

Do you have a room-by-room heating load calculation? Or even better, a design calculation for the underfloor heating? It should include pipe lengths and flow rates per heating circuit. With that, you can compare the actual settings on the heat meters and adjust them if necessary.

An individual adjustment cannot be made by the heating engineer anyway; only you can do that step by step.

I actually want to make that adjustment myself; I understand that the heating technician can’t do it.
I was just interested in a report from the hydraulic balancing.
I also have the pipe lengths. Unfortunately, there is nothing to compare with the flow meters. I’ll have to contact him again, but I’m afraid I won’t get anything 🙁
The design calculation was done directly by Viessmann, but we’ve never seen any documentation for that.

But this already helps me understand things better. Thanks!

When the manufacturer calculates the design of the heating circuits, it usually includes the recommended flow rate. Make sure to get this information!

Yes, I’ll follow up on that again. At the moment, it’s a bit too... uh... cozy in here 😀
So it seems like the best time to do a system check has come.

Let’s see what Viessmann has to say about it!
