Hello everyone,
which protection classes do you recommend for ground floor apartment patio doors and windows, and what should be considered here? What costs and prices can be expected for patio doors and windows depending on their class and size?

Many thanks!

RC2 or RC2N, and it is important to ensure proper installation by a qualified specialist.

RC3 is overkill, isn’t it? Does anyone know how much more expensive it would be in percentage terms?
Also: As a layperson, would I be able to recognize proper implementation?

It depends on what you want to protect; for typical private households, RC3 is probably excessive. Additional costs... Significantly more expensive, since higher standards are required for installation as well. It’s best to request quotes (if you are genuinely interested). As a non-expert, if I really wanted RC2 or RC2N, I would insist on obtaining the corresponding certificates. I would hire a professional company with references and then verify in person.

I also know window manufacturers who offer different security levels. For example:
Level 1: fittings according to RC1
Level 2: fittings according to RC2
Level 3: windows according to RC2N + certificate/installation verification, glazing with bonded panes, lockable handle
Level 4: windows according to RC2 + certificate/installation verification, security glazing with bonded panes, lockable handle

And depending on the level, the cost varies according to what you prefer.
