I have what I hope is a simple question about my LAN cable on the exterior wall of our new build. During the planning stage, we thought we might add a camera later on. Currently, the cable extends about 1 meter (3 feet) out of the wall and is fitted with a keystone module (installed this way by the electrician). Naturally, it is exposed to all kinds of weather conditions. Is it necessary to protect this connection? Obviously, it doesn’t look very neat at the moment, and I’m sure it’s not ideal for the cable either. How have you dealt with something like this? The cable is at a height of about 2.30 meters (7.5 feet) and is not yet connected to the network.
I’d appreciate any tips. Thanks a lot.
Christian.

Which one did your electrician install?

C.beckmann19863 Apr 2022 12:33The orange cable was installed. Height 230cm (7 ft 7 in) facing southwest. So, not the weather-exposed side.
