Hello,

We had cork parquet installed in the upper floor and in the home office. Cork is naturally a softer surface. Now I would like to know if it makes sense to put something under the office chair, or if the cork will be damaged over time from the constant rolling back and forth?

Yes, it will ... we also have click cork flooring in our office. It is quite durable, but with constant heavy use, you will likely see wear over time. Buy one of those plastic mats at Ikea for 25 €; we've been using one for years, and it also helped protect our softwood parquet flooring.

OK, great. Then we’ll go ahead and do that! Thanks!

Yes, that’s true, the plastic mats are great. We even installed them under our sideboard and dresser, just to protect the floor in the long run.

With this mat, you can’t go wrong, but it is aesthetically unattractive. As an alternative, you can also use connected bamboo rugs.

I have had different experiences. We have had cork parquet flooring in the office for over 5 years, and even without a mat, there are no marks from the chair casters.
