I would definitely recommend not buying widely from eBay. Especially because of the warranty for the device. I usually buy from a specialist retailer, as they also provide a contact person in case of any questions or problems. I cannot say which of the two is cheaper to maintain. But when it comes to safety, I would choose an electric one.
