Hello everyone,
since I am not an expert in this field and want to avoid making mistakes, I would like to know your opinion.
We have purchased a newly built house from a developer, and currently the electrician is working on the property. A high-voltage connection is planned for the garage. However, an electric or hybrid car is not planned within the next 1-2 years. Does it make sense to have a wall box installed right away because of the current incentives? At least that is what the electrician suggested.
Or is just running the cable enough for now (is there any funding for that)? How would you proceed?
Thanks for your advice.

Are you from NRW? Extremely high subsidies. 60% off on wall boxes plus labor (max. 2,000 euros not taxable / max. 3,500 euros taxable) plus 500 euros if a photovoltaic system is installed at the same time. Green energy or photovoltaics is a requirement.
Do it immediately!I can only agree. Calculate it yourself—wall boxes cost almost nothing including installation! Per wall box, you might only pay around 100 to 300 euros out of pocket. I don’t think it will ever be cheaper than this. At our site, each parking space (4 in total) will get an 11 kW charging station. It will likely be one that charges based on forecast data but can be prioritized manually using a key switch.

C.beckmann19861 Oct 2020 20:55Thank you for the quick and numerous responses. However, I have one more question regarding this. Only 60% is subsidized, so how do you end up with such a low personal contribution? I just looked up the Eve Single Pro-line. If I understand correctly, it costs between 1000 and 1800 euros without installation. Or am I missing something here?
Our house will probably be finished no earlier than spring; can I still apply for this now?
Thanks for your help

knalltüte1 Oct 2020 21:12Having your own charging station really makes sense when you generate your own electricity. Since you are building to KfW 40+ standards, you also have to install a photovoltaic system plus a battery. And for each charging point, there is an additional €500 (euros) bonus. Look for a somewhat more affordable wallbox (charging station), as these often add an excessive surcharge of around €1,000.
There are actually many options on the market for under €1,000, plus installation costs — let’s say €500 (I believe it costs less). So €1,500 × 60% = €900, plus €500 bonus for photovoltaic = €1,400 subsidy on €1,500 total costs.
You should ask your solar installer for advice, as they should know the conditions and the right timing for applying for grants...

C.beckmann19861 Oct 2020 22:06We have only made preparations for a photovoltaic system. Currently, everything will be powered by a heat pump. So should we initially plan without the 500 euros for photovoltaic, right?

pffreestyler2 Oct 2020 09:56The climate protection subsidy program supports the purchase of a wallbox with a charging capacity between 11 and 22 kilowatts with 400 euros for the wallbox itself and 400 euros for installation and connection. The total amount is limited to 50 percent of the eligible costs.
I’m confused: assuming the box costs 600 euros, do I then receive 400 euros or 300 euros in subsidies?
It can only be 300 euros, since the total amount is limited to 50 percent of the eligible costs, but I find the test lacks a clear note stating “maximum 400 euros” for clarification.
