Hello everyone,

we are currently planning the construction of a semi-detached house. The initial plans from the architect are available, but so far we are not completely satisfied and would like to experiment a bit ourselves.

Is there a program that meets the following criteria:
- easy and as intuitive as possible to use
- floor plan design, preferably 3D
- decent graphics
- various furniture and figures to better illustrate the proportions
- operable on a PC

The software doesn’t have to be free, but should cost less than 100 €.

I look forward to your recommendations.

Thank you for your quick response. I have reviewed the post. There might still be a few options to consider.

I would recommend Homebyme for the requirements. However, only 3D within a single level.

Brainstorming is gladly supported here as well. Since you are starting a new thread on a frequently asked question topic, I’ll add my two cents: a 3D program won’t grant a layperson any magical design powers, but it can quickly give the illusion that their apprentice-level efforts have already discovered the wheel. It’s better to take the architect’s plan, some scissors, tracing paper, a pencil, etc., then print out the plan and compare it with the building envelope of the plot (so you know the limits within which length, width, and height can be adjusted).
