Hello everyone,

Can someone by any chance tell me how the area above the light wells, where the insulation is essentially exposed, would be professionally sealed? We have raised the light well along with the matching extension, but now all the insulation is obviously exposed. On the one hand, it doesn’t look very nice, and on the other hand, it probably isn’t good in the long run.

Thank you in advance!

Hello everyone,
I have been looking into this myself... Would it make sense to use waterproofing slurry here and then paint over it with white exterior paint? Or would another option be better?
Thank you in advance!

Under no circumstances leave it "open."
1. Plaster it --> this will match the rest of the house wall
or
2. Talk to a good roofer --> it could also be covered nicely with metal cladding (e.g., powder-coated stainless steel sheet)

Thank you very much. The circled area will be underneath the grate anyway, so it won’t be directly visible. It doesn’t necessarily have to be something very expensive, as long as it’s properly sealed 🙂
