Hello! We have only been living in our new prefabricated house for a few months, and we are already experiencing problems with the water drainage in the shower. At first, everything was fine until the plumber showed us how to clean the drain insert. After reinserting the part, the shower suddenly stopped draining. Then a ventilation component was installed in the utility room downstairs, but that didn’t help. After installing a larger ventilation component, it worked for a while.

By now, there are problems again: when the washing machine runs, water foams up in the guest toilet, the shower gurgles loudly, and the shower no longer drains properly like before the ventilation component was installed. The water only drains after it is turned off. The bathroom is on the upper floor, while the utility room and guest toilet are on the ground floor.

The company now says that something must be clogged and that the issue with removing and reinserting the shower insert was just a coincidence. They want to pour chemical cleaner in and claim that will solve everything. Another opinion we received is that the ventilation component is now too large and lets too much air into the water pipes.

We are desperate and don’t know who or what to believe. Is there anyone who can help us or who has had similar experiences with a barrier-free (walk-in) shower? The drain is located in the center of the shower, without a linear drain channel.

Thank you very much in advance for your help. Best regards, sks
