ᐅ Issues with the bathroom contractor even before work has started.

InstabilGood evening everyone.
I have a question. About four weeks ago, we visited bathroom showrooms for our house build and selected items for both bathrooms extensively. Unfortunately, we did not receive any list of the selected products from the showroom.
Today, we received an offer from the installer through whom we now want to order the items. The problem is:
1. The offer does not include a detailed list of the components, just modules like: Bathtub including labor €2000. Toilet including labor €1400.
2. The company refuses to provide a breakdown of the components and to list labor costs separately. Their argument is that we only want a shopping list.
3. For deducting the fixed-price components, for example, only €100 is deducted for toilet plus labor.
I feel somewhat taken advantage of here, or is this normal practice?

You can compile a shopping list for Reuter directly on Reuter’s website. You don’t need the installer for that.

These are predatory contractors. The only way to deal with them is to stick to the standard, live in the house for a few weeks, then plan again with the IKEA team and rework the details. You might end up discarding almost new sinks and such, but you will save thousands. It is what it is. Sticking to the standard might also scare them enough to make them more cooperative. But you have to be serious about it. Karsten
Unfortunately, nothing is listed at all.
We were more or less assigned the supplier because they are also installing the heating system. But that is not set in stone. The problem is, we chose the items for a reason because we like them. Unfortunately, there is a complete lack of any detailed list from both the bathroom studio and the craftsman for us to review. This is especially important since we structured everything modularly to see what is financially feasible and whether we can consider a different cost range for the smaller bathroom.
I suspect I won't receive this anyway, because otherwise it would become clear that they are deducting far too little for the standard items (if they already want about €1000 (around $1,100) just for installing a toilet, but only credit us €100 (around $110) for the standard toilet including labor).
I am used to receiving and providing transparent offers, so this approach feels very suspicious to me.
If they continue like this, we will start looking for a new partner for this trade.
