A few weeks ago, I bought Pax – unfortunately, I only just got around to assembling it and I’m getting frustrated...
Among other components (I’m leaving out small parts like shelves):
- 1x Pax (100cm wide/201cm high)
- 2x Pax (50cm wide/201cm high)
- 1x Pax Lyngdal sliding door
- Komplement door closer
- 2x Komplement drawers (100cm wide)
Problem:
The wardrobe is assembled, the sliding doors are hung and move smoothly. However, after installing the door closers, the wide drawers won’t slide out. They hit the front door, which can’t slide further to the right. This is because the component that hooks into the door closer and closes the door also partly overlaps the other door, preventing further sliding to the right – I can’t describe it any other way...
Here are pictures of the "problem"
You can see how the drawer hits the door

This happens because the front door cannot slide any further to the right. The component on the left door closer overlaps the rear door, so it can’t be pushed further right...

And here you can see that the hanger (upper guide rail – where the door opener is also attached) is already as far to the right as possible. So no further movement to the right is possible here.

Please help
Best regards
Miranda

Alter_Schwede30 Apr 2012 12:17Hi,
in the last picture, there is also a plastic clip shown with an "R" on it. If you loosen the screw, you can still adjust the position of the clip. Try to see if you can move it further to the right. If that works, check if the doors can now slide further to the right.

Andreas

Alter_Schwede30 Apr 2012 12:20I don’t want to upset you, but unfortunately, you installed the seal of the rear door on the wrong side. It should be on the right side so that it seals the cabinet on that side with the strip when closed. Otherwise, the cabinet probably has an open gap on the right side. If you want, I would get a new seal from IKEA’s spare parts department and install it.
Best regards,
Andreas

mirandaveracruz1 May 2012 20:13I was able to shift the door closing module slightly to the right – now I can pull out the drawers, but it’s still not 100% perfect... they are still scraping along the door.
I don’t understand the part about the seal – which seal do you mean? The felt-like strip?
And something else I don’t get – in the door installation guide, step 27, it looks like the narrow aluminum door trim is supposed to be mounted on the left side. But wouldn’t that create a gap when the doors are closed?!

Miranda

mirandaveracruz1 May 2012 21:05so... there must be a mistake in the instructions... I have now installed the aluminum covers exactly as shown in the manual...
Take a look yourselves – this can’t be right. When closed, there is a very wide gap remaining – and nothing has improved with the drawer situation either... they still scrape along the front door edge...

On the right side (where the wide cover is now installed) it looks quite good, but the door is now difficult to open because it can no longer be gripped properly...

And here is assembly step 27 – it is clearly shown that the wide cover should be mounted on the right...

PitOPossum1 May 2012 21:21Hello,
I also spent the whole day today trying to install the doors including the door stoppers.
I have the same problem.
The doors do not close far enough --> this prevents the drawers inside the cabinet from being opened.
The angle (as shown in the picture) stops the doors from opening wide enough.
I also noticed the error described in the assembly instructions. I tried installing the trim strips both ways. The way it is described in the instructions is definitely incorrect!
It would be great if someone has a solution to this problem. I already suspected that Lygdal and the stopper system might not be compatible.
