Bau herrin16 Aug 2015 12:40Hello,
we are planning to build in the backyard, on a meadow behind the parents’ house. The future driveway will continue to the rear through a paved courtyard.
Since we do not want to drive construction vehicles over the paved courtyard (and would prefer to keep the paving intact... 😉), the construction site access will be separate—about 30m (100 feet) long—across a meadow.
To avoid damaging the ground (the meadow(s)), we are considering a temporary construction road.
Here are our questions:
1) Has anyone had experience with temporary construction roads in private building projects?
2) What kind of specification text should we use for the tender?
3) From your perspective, are there alternatives? (Gravel surfacing? And what to do with the gravel after for a 30m (100 feet) long access road…)
4) We are open to doing some work ourselves—what can be prepared in advance when using temporary construction roads to avoid extra costs?
If anyone knows a company in the Unna area, please share the contact!
I couldn’t find this topic using the forum’s search function. If it’s already discussed, please don’t take it the wrong way.
Thanks a lot! 🙂

2) What kind of specification text should be used here? You don’t need a specification text. These are basically just “plastic panels.” Search for “temporary construction roads” and you will find plenty of suppliers; prices don’t vary much.
