Hello!
I just went through the new kitchen buying guide for countertops, sinks, and faucets, and unfortunately found very little information about custom cuts for the countertops. Is there more information available elsewhere, or do I need to discuss this in detail during a full planning appointment at IKEA in person? Are the prices for rounded corners, joints, and cutouts no longer fixed?

1. The countertop is measured precisely to the centimeter.
2. Yes, you can also make the cutout yourself, that is no problem.
3. The exact panel dimensions would then be 158 x 40 cm (62 x 16 inches) and 190 x 63.5 cm (75 x 25 inches); you do not need to account for or pay extra for the overlap joint allowance.
4. Yes, you can help decide the placement of the joint; the only rule is to keep it away from water, but since there is no sink on that side, it should not be an issue.

And you are aware that you might have to wait 4-6 weeks for the board, right?

Yes, I have plenty of time. I’m not ordering yet anyway because the kitchen still needs to be remodeled first. Planned for spring 2017. *fingers crossed*
Visible edge banding = edge band like on uncut EDGE PANELS? Then yes, it should match the ready-to-assemble parts. (Additional question: Is it also possible to have the same laminate on the underside of the countertop as on the top?)
