So, what precautions have you taken at your houses/construction sites for today and the coming days?

Work stoppage?
Or will the work continue as usual?

Although we have already finished building our house, we moved everything that is not anchored into the garage.
Hopefully, the bricks will stay in place with the clamps.

Strangely, the neighbors put up the entire scaffolding just last night because the workers will be roofing the house next week.. oops:
Not sure if that was a good idea.

Jerk it towards a lamppost or similar and secure it there.

Karsten, first there would need to be a lamp post... at most, you can tie it to the scaffolding...

Place as many heavy objects as possible against the door to increase its weight, if you have something available on site to put there.
Secure or lock the door with something.
Otherwise, I can't think of anything else.

But let's take this a step further: who would be liable if the door moves on its own and causes damage to neighboring properties?

The general contractor or developer if the house has not yet been handed over, since it is within their scope of work and thus insured through them?

Or the homeowner or their builder’s liability insurance?

I have already read that this is probably covered by the builder’s liability insurance...

I was already thinking about placing some stones there.... Although, I still have some leftover roof tiles next to the front door... maybe put those in there...?!

In the development area, just recently with somewhat stronger wind, two small houses ended up tipping over....

How watertight are portable toilets (Dixis) when lying on their side? Do they have something like a backflow preventer or similar?

Portable toilets are not sealed at all. If they lie on their side, all the waste just leaks out ^^

If it just lays down, I wouldn’t mind. You can stand it back up and hose it off with a water hose.
