So, what precautions have you taken at your houses/construction sites for today and the coming days?
Work stoppage?
Or will the work continue as usual?
Although we have already finished building our house, we moved everything that is not anchored into the garage.
Hopefully, the bricks will stay in place with the clamps.
Strangely, the neighbors put up the entire scaffolding just last night because the workers will be roofing the house next week.. oops:
Not sure if that was a good idea.

It still hasn’t cleared here and won’t until tomorrow afternoon or evening. Today brought everything: snow, rain, sleet, gusts—it barely got light. Yesterday there were glimpses of brightness. In the late afternoon to early evening, we were at the beach. The cloud formations were incredible—what the sky can show, racing and piling up: cirrus clouds, the darkest storm fronts, razor-sharp edges, behind them steel blue, orange, red, sulfur-yellow sun—it was wild. Along with salt and spray in the air, the sound of crashing waves and rumbling. A spectacle—you just have to go and see it.
Well, Sabine has caught us too. Yesterday, there was a loud bang in the house. Since then, a new crack has appeared in the bathroom wall. It’s very small but definitely new. Strangely, it’s on the leeward side. Our general contractor had the concrete columns installed on the west and, I believe, also on the north side specifically for wind load. But now this happens. We’re a bit unsure whether this could be a problem or if it will just disappear after the next paint job. ops:

Is it fully built? All the way to the outside? Do you know a bricklayer? If so, get one.No, it’s “just” an interior wall.seat88 schrieb:
Well, it’s probably just the plaster, the paint, or the filler that’s cracked. I don’t know if your house is solidly built or not. But it’s certainly no problem... Yes, I hope so too. But it’s quite impressive how the wind shakes the house.
