We were among the first here to get underground power cables; a power line runs directly from my parents’ roof into the ground through a cable conduit. In 2016, we sold the house! The new owners knew about this and were also aware that the roof needed repairs. The house was built in the 1960s. Now, they have involved ENBW to ask where a "nice, discreet" wooden utility pole could be installed on our property. We refused because we don’t want it on our land! They now want to place it near the property boundary. The new owners have submitted the application. Our neighbors behind us, whose property overlaps both our plots, are building a conservatory and also do not want this clothesline and pole obstructing their view. What can we do? The ENBW site manager says he can place the pole wherever he wants… but from a landscape perspective, that would be impossible here. We live in a small hamlet with a farm opposite us. The new owners are acting a bit strange; instead of contacting us directly, they had the site manager call us. They also installed an “ugly fence” 180 meters (590 feet) long and 30 centimeters (12 inches) away from the boundary without asking. If they had asked, we could have worked out something nice together along the boundary. They also didn’t stick to the agreements made at the notary regarding payments when the house was unoccupied. Although they moved in two months earlier than agreed, they did not pay as arranged. We accommodated them in every way, even filling the oil tank according to the handover contract and reading the electricity and water meters later since they were working in the house for over a month. Now, however, I don’t want to allow another pole to be installed here. What options do I have? Can anyone offer advice?
