we need to decide on the location of the outdoor unit by tomorrow morning. Admittedly, this is very last-minute. Unfortunately, we have no other choice.
We are getting the Viessmann VITOCAL 222-s split air-to-water heat pump.
The initial plan was to place the unit behind the garage. However, this plan has fallen through because the screed in the garage cannot be raised high enough.
The air-to-water heat pump is located in the utility room (circle opposite W and T).
Here are the ideas we had:
- On the driveway to the garage, attached to the house wall, to the left of the window.
- In front of the house, to the right of the front door (3m (10 feet) to the street)
- On the left side of the house, attached to the house wall
The house is located in a newly developed residential area, surrounded exclusively by single-family homes.
Many thanks in advance for a quick response!

Deliverer8 Feb 2017 13:52I would generally recommend positioning it toward the street side.
Advantages:
- far from the nearest neighbor
- far from the terrace
Disadvantages:
- located on the main façade/front of the house

nasenmann8 Feb 2017 14:24What does the screed in the garage have to do with the position of the pump?

Deliverer8 Feb 2017 14:25The system is defined, including the noise emissions.
And even if these likely comply with the regulations, noise is still noise. The farther away from the neighbor, the less chance of complaints.
The clearance distances in all directions are also specified for the system in the datasheet.
