Hello

We are planning our first house. It will be a solid (masonry) house. We have decided on a bungalow.

Which type of brick or block would you recommend to achieve good insulation values?

Are you a professional? Probably not, as that is a very superficial assessment!

Otherwise, unless it is going to be a passive house, exterior walls made of sand-lime brick will probably work—and everyone will be satisfied.

Why should sand-lime brick be a problem?

What did you decide in the end?
I am now facing the same question: 17.5cm (7 inches) aerated concrete or porous clay blocks combined with mineral wool insulation and cladding.
How big is the difference in terms of sound insulation?
