Hello everyone, we are currently planning our house and are unsure whether to choose Poroton brick walls or Liapor walls from the company NFC in Fulda.

I have read all the forum posts about Liapor. Overall, I am very impressed with the Liapor material and its properties (thermal insulation, soundproofing, etc.) as well as the fast construction method. My only concern is that I can’t find many experience reports related to this company.

Has anyone built with them and can share some insights?
Does anyone know someone who has built with NFC?

Since I am missing specific feedback about this provider, I am currently leaning towards Poroton 42.5mm (1.7 inches) with air chambers.

You can also send me a private message if you prefer.

Thank you all!

Liapor cannot compete with Poroton in the slightest when it comes to...

I mean stability, noise insulation, value retention... everything speaks in favor of Poroton, ideally 42cm (16.5 inches) thick with insulated blocks.

Liapor is simply cheaper, more affordable, etc...

Visit a show home and let the children play upstairs—you can hear everything throughout the entire house...

With all due respect, that is complete nonsense; it may reflect your personal opinion, but your statement is far from reality!

I have visited several model homes made with Liapor.

It’s definitely a very cheap type of construction... when it comes to resale, you realize this if no one is willing to pay the price...

A solid masonry house, stone on stone, always represents the highest quality... the resale value increases starting from construction!

Several single-family homes designed by independent architects in my circle of acquaintances cost at least 500,000 (currency) and this will remain the case for the next few years.

Now everyone can have their say.

We have been living for 16 years in a three-story townhouse made from these blocks (36cm (14 inches), uninsulated, autoclaved aerated concrete). The first years with children, and now the grandchildren visit more often. Noise is absolutely not an issue. The energy performance is excellent. What could be wrong with the stability? We have no cracks, settlement, or anything like that...

Best regards, Steffi.

By the way, the new house will also be built with these blocks.

@Bauherr 83

I have visited several model homes made from Liapor...

Lightweight expanded clay aggregate is produced from low-lime clay without any artificial or chemical additives – in contrast, Poroton includes foaming agents added to the clay during its manufacturing. As a result, two high-quality building materials are created, which may differ in many ways, but they are certainly not cheap!

Moreover, the value of a single-family house is not determined solely by the masonry; I know many expensive homes that, despite the low interest rate environment, are waiting like unsold stock for their big day.

Extremely cheap construction methods... when it comes to resale, you quickly realize that nobody is willing to pay that price...

I do not like the way you present yourself here!

It is one thing to share and praise your personal preferences; it is quite another to dismiss the rich variety of alternatives. There is no single material that fits all needs. I have already made this point to you twice; there will be no third time.
