Bauherr889910 Jun 2025 22:25I found a staircase design that I find interesting, combining elements of a landing staircase and a half-turn staircase.
What dimensions would this staircase have from a top-down view, assuming it is square and does not have one side with fewer steps than the other as shown in the picture? What tread depths and riser heights would you expect? (Single-family house, 2.5 m (8 ft) ceiling height) This is more of a calculation example, but unfortunately, I don’t know how to work it out.
What are your general thoughts on this staircase?
Thank you.

This appears to me as a simple demonstration of a very basic double-winder staircase using a poor tool.
I don’t see a landing. Winder treads become wider on the outside because they rotate around a central point. In this respect, the steps are not landings, even if the tool suggests otherwise.
Stair treads should not be visually striking, but rather safe to use. There are standard or minimum dimensions for this, for example 19/26: 19cm (7.5 inches) riser height to 26cm (10 inches) tread depth.

Floor-to-ceiling height? (Ceiling height alone is not enough)
Stair width?
Is it compliant with DIN standards?
Should there be a railing between the steps?
I wouldn’t recommend it; the tread depth is wider in the middle of the staircase than elsewhere. It would be better to split the landing only in the middle.
Do you have a plan showing where the staircase is supposed to go?
