Mimi5685Hello everyone,
I live on the middle floor of my parents' house. The attic, where my parents live, was converted from a loft into an apartment in 1985. Recently, I noticed some minor cracks between the doors and the ceiling in the attic apartment (above the attic there is a small platform under the beams). The cracks are hairline cracks. Today, when I looked more closely at my apartment, I saw a crack with unevenness in the ceiling of the central hallway, about 3 cm (1.2 inches) wide. The floor above in the attic does not show any damage. Does anyone know if this could be harmless or rather critical? Unfortunately, I am a complete layperson.
